2021 Initiatives

Trees for the Planet has been helping educate children about the benefits of native plants, food webs, and we are now announcing our plan for improving nutritional resilience and food self-sufficiency. Beans & Greens Bags are for those impacted most by the pandemic and living in urban food deserts. This program can provide year-round complete nutrition - in effect, a personal, portable raised-bed organic garden. With our partners and resource providers, we will revolutionize the District with complete nutrition and plant knowledge.

We provide plants as a way to improve the health of people and the planet.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we provided health care providers with nutritional plants. These plants help to provide nourishment and well-being in these uniquely stressed and stressful times. Reach out to us about providing your health care professionals with indoor or edible plants.

Our mission is supported by ecological innovations such as Root Pouches, which are made of recycled water bottles, and Pittmoss eco-soils, which are made of recycled paper and cardboard. Each provides specific benefits for the plants, contributing to the health and presence of every plant and our planet.
